Bob has landed in China

Hi everyone.  My name is Colin (better known as Astro-Nuts).  Bob and I try to get out with our cameras frequently. We went meteorite hunting as well. Anyway, enough about me. After all, this is Bob's blog. Bob asked me to post for him as he is unable to from China. I will try to keep you updated as I hear from him. Here is part of an email he sent me yesterday -

"I can't do posting, things we take for granted like social networking can't do in china, can't even bring up my blog. Had to pinch myself to see if i was dreaming when walking on the Great Wall. I took a video of a small walk through which I will post when I get back, so much to see and do, only had a couple hours sleep since I arrived. The whole reason i came to China was for the Total Solar Eclipse....that has now become secondary, sure I hope it is clear skies, but the whole experience of being in China is really quite remarkable and worth the trip in itself.

Bob"

Bob:

We hear all of these things about China--lack of simple freedoms such as the Internet. But I can only imagine that being there and seeing how the other half lives is a whole different thing. What an experience.

Looking forward to some fantastic posts upon your return. Good luck with the eclipse.

Happy trails.

Colin - Thank you for posting for Bob. Looking forward to all the great pictures I know he's taking. If you get a chance, can you ask him if he knows anything about best708.com. I have received two emails that say they are from him and show his email address that are advertising the above mentioned website. I can forward you the email if you like. Thanks!

Thanks, Colin.

Bob, that was great to read that you are so blown away by China itself that the solar eclipse is secondary. How cool is that!

I'm sorry about access to your blog and all, but I will love seeing what you share when you get back.

What a great and nice friend you have, Bob!!! Enjoy China to the greatest! Looking forward to all those new photos. Are the stars over there also so bright...? :)

I know, it's longtime since I have visited your blog - sorry for that! Traveling is very time consuming for me, but beautiful!

Thanks for your visits to my blog, very much appreciated.

Blackholes and Astrostuff banned in China. Wow!

I am sure glad you are having a good trip, though, even if you will have to wait until you get back to read all our stellar comments.

Can't wait to see some photos.

On Bob's behalf, I will say thank you to everyone for posting your comments. You are the reason Bob, and people like me, keep blogs going. I know he appreciates reading your comments and kind words or encouragement.

And, because he's not here to stop me, I'm going to shamelessly plug my own blog> Please stop by, as I do visit yours when you leave comments for Bob. It's interesting to see what kind of people follow this stuff. Some of you have really neat blogs as well.

And to Moonshadow, I would say to not respond to anything until Bob is back and you know it's from him. From the research I've done, even though it displays as a Chinese site for gadgets, etc. best708.com is located in the United States.

Anyway, I'll post as soon as I hear from Bob again, and look forward to talking with you all again soon. Take care.

I kind of knew that the commies would not let you post anything. That's okay, keep having fun! You will post everything when you'll come back. Stay safe!

Hey Bob if you can hear us from here, we already miss you here. But please do take care of yourself, China must be fun as I can see from your email. So great wall of china is really great, you know that someone is probably looking at you from space, lol. Hope your solar eclipse turns out good, and enjoy. We will see you when you are back! Anna :)
