Roswell Part Deux

Well made it down to Roswell and Albuquerque New Mexico for the Annular Solar Eclipse and what a thrill!

To see this event live was nothing short of spectacular. Met some cool people from all over the world, New York, Germany ect. Saw the campy Roswell and dropped into the UFO museum and Research Centre.

Traveled the nostalgic Route 66, actually collected a piece of the road

And while I was there I went an hour out of Albuquerque to see the Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument, another thrill.

So what's next celestial wise you may ask. well a biggie, this Tuesday June 5th is the rare transit of Venus over the face of the Sun, weather permitting I will be out getting some pics and posting later. I will leave you with a little clip I put together of the eclipse.

  1. Hi Bob,

Gorgeous pictures of the Annular solar eclipse - it was nice to see them again.

I didn't get to see the transit of Venus (it was night where I was); but Nasa's pictures of it are beautiful; I couldn't get my eyes off of them. Isn't the sun seen from above gorgeous?

I hope you had the chance to get pics and share them with us :D.

    Cheerio, my friend!

  4. Bob:

What an exciting trip. I've always wanted to visit Roswell. I've read about it and I've even written about it, but I just never got around to visiting it. You know how that goes.

When you were in Albuquerque it's too bad you didn't stop by and see the Nuclear Weapons Museum. If you had, you may have gotten a clue as to how I acquired the handle, SWUBIRD. Part of my history rests in that museum.

You presented a beautiful post as always. I love the images.

Take care and remember . . . Happy trails.

  6. Hi Bob. How are things. You have some great pictures of the eclipse. I have never been to Roswell. I don't really travel.
I always think UFO's may exist. The famous Wow! signal in 1977 could have been from an alien civilization.
I added a lot to my colossal universe blog if you have time to check it. I have about 284 posts. Some interesting stuff.
    Have a nice week.
